Where it all began
The story of how cross-stitch re-entered my life as a hobby that transformed my life during a very stressful time
The stitch that started it all….
It was the summer of 2019. I was pregnant (but didn't know it yet) and was tired all the time.
I was overwhelmed at work.
My husband and I were looking at buying our first house.
Basically, I was a Hot Mess. 😜
I needed an outlet. 🔌
Working out has always (and continues to be) an outlet for me, but I was (unknowingly) getting hit by the first trimester and had zero energy.
I craved something tangible that I could see with my hands. I love my career, but my job as a Product Manager doesn't have a tangible good at the end of my workday.
So I picked up a cross stitch kit at Michaels and it gave my hands something to do while I winded down from a stressful day. And I had A Thing I Made! My progress was obvious and it was something I had control over.
Many years and many projects later, I still find solace with needle and thread. 🪡
