Sunburst Square Wall Hanging

Reflections of learning a new square pattern and making something new

Bursting with creativity

One of the cool (and slightly overwhelming) things about granny squares is the shear amount of motifs and patterns you can create.
I mastered the solid basic granny when creating a blanket for Hudson (and I still love the motif and, particularly, the meditative flow I can get into with them).
But I wanted to level up my Granny Square Game. So a multi-colored sunburst square, it was!
This helped me learn some new stitches:
  • Puff stitch (the second round)
  • Cluster stitch (the third round)
I also learned how to turn circles into squares, using half double crochets, double crochets, and treble crochets.

Not only did I incorporate different colors into each square, I mixed and matched so I could create a cool collage effect to hang on my wall.
