Polka Dot Tote

I absolutely LOVE Hooked by Robin’s Youtube channel. The things she creates are not only beautiful, but her tutorials are, hands down, the best (in my opinion). I had been taking a short break from granny squares, but decided I wanted to hop back in and learn a new motif, so I went to her Youtube page. I was not disappointed.

I came across her Polka Dot Circle and decided it would be my next endeavor. And again, I was hooked. I knocked out a bunch of these squares in a short time and wanted to create something out of them.

After browsing lots of videos and links for inspiration, I came across another Youtube video for how Brittany (B.Hooked) used a bunch of granny squares alongside a plain canvas bag to create a tote.

I learned a new joining technique in the process of this project (continuous tight join as you go - thanks to, of course, Hooked by Robin). Always love learning new things!

After joining them all, I realized they weren’t going to be quite wide enough to cover the entire bag. So I improvised and on the edges used a continuous tight join as you go to create enough width so that the tote bag would fit nicely together. The edges of the bag feature an extra row of double crochets.

All in all, I'm TOTES in love with this!
