Polar Bear Plushie

Our story begins with a trip to Target back in November. I had picked Hudson up from school and I told him, “We’re going to Target. But we are not buying a toy!” He still asked to go “look” at them and I again told him no.

When we walked into the store, it was filled with all sorts of Christmas things, including plushes next to the register.

To his credit, he didn’t ask to buy anything, but he did say: “I really wish I could have a polar bear stuffy” and, after seeing them, I said, “Do you want me to make you one?” and he said “With yarn?!?!” and I said “Yes, with yarn.”

He didn’t ask for anything else during that visit (which, we were only there to pick up two things in the personal care/toiletries aisles, so we weren’t there long). But I didn’t forget about my promise to make him one.

I am getting better at amigurumi, but sewing things together is still a very big weakness of mine. I really struggle with holding things together and knowing where/how to sew it for the best hold/look. Overall, I’m VERY happy with how this little guy turned out.

….I mean, just LOOK at that scarf!
