Life Lately: November 2024

We kicked off November with a Family Festival at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin. We went last year and had a blast, so made sure to go back this year, too! Another fun place that I’ve been frequenting with Hudson is the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center! He has loved the train exhibits and playing in the recreation room.

I finished this cardigan 🙂 It’s super cozy, but — as I learned on a blistering cold day — not built for wind. She was made for snuggling indoors. 😂

One of the things I love to do is create and give unique gifts around the holidays. For the last few years, I’ve cross-stitched my squad ornaments with Squad Inside Jokes. This year, I crocheted, cross-stitched, and hand-crafted various ornaments with multiple inside jokes that have developed during 2024.

And even though it’s technically December, I finished them in November and I’ve distributed them, so I’m glad I can share photos now.

Speaking of crochet/crafting….Other things I’ve crocheted this month: I learned how to do crochet hexagons. And I’ve used them to make stockings! I also crocheted a giant Chonky Dragon.

Our tree is up. Hudson’s been singing The Chipmunk Christmas songs on repeat. Three stockings have been created. Christmas is almost here!!

That being said, I had a great time seeing my in-laws and celebrating Thanksgiving in Charleston. It was nice enough for a couple days to be able to get short runs/walks in. And then it got really cold and it was even colder when we got home 🥶

And speaking of running, one of the things I mention that I often mention is “how running is going or not going” and lately it’s been firmly in the “not going” mode. It’s been too cold. And I just can’t seem to find the motivation to do it. But I did get a stationary spin bike (it’s a budget bike from Amazon) and I’ve gotten a couple short spin class rides in. I’m hoping this will be my winter cardio.
