A compilation of photos and memories from April 2025

36.
April started off withâŠsurgery.
Yep. Surgery. On April 1st. My 36th birthday.
I had to fast overnight and all I had until around 1:00PM on my birthday was a Gatorade that I was instructed to drink prior to coming in for surgery. I was nervous because it was the first time as A Person With Memories that I had to go under anesthesia, but everything went fine. I remember the nurse anesthetist coming in, giving me anesthesia through the IV, giving Holden a kiss, starting to get wheeled out of the room, and then waking up in the post-op area đ
If youâre wondering whatâs been going on: I had an abscess in my breast and I had to get it drained. Itâs been a month since the procedure and everything is healing well. Iâm still undergoing more treatment for the underlying inflammatory condition that caused it (granulomatous mastitis), but April was the ultimate beginning of that healing process. đ
Hudsonâs Adventures
Unlike March, April felt more like a shift back to normal; I felt I was able to be more present since I wasnât in so much pain â healing has taken some time, but the lack of immense pain has been wonderful.
Hudson got to spend time with my in-laws, who visited in their camper and stayed at a really cool RV Resort.
We also celebrated Easter & just had some genuinely amazing family moments â€ïž
Admiring his plant from school and a worm from the backyard
Throwing rocks into the lake at the RV Resort
The Easter Egg Hunt haul
Dump Truck Car Wash
We had a picnic, âfireworks showâ (aka bubble machine) and ended it with chalk
âŠnow, and back to me.
In the world of books, I finished a couple (found a new favorite) and hard DNFâd one that I hoped I would like. The April Winner: Better Than The Movies, which I read, then immediately re-read. And also searched for the corresponding playlist. Itâs YA, but I loved it all the same. Gotta love a good enemies-to-lovers trope with very cute moments đ Liz and Wes, forever!
(âŠand, yes, I read the sequel, and yes I have thoughts about itâŠâŠ..)
Â
I wrote about this previously, but a âsneak peekâ version of my app Thread Stash got released in April! It was a huge accomplishment and I have a lot more work to do to, but so excited that Iâve been able to learn something new and see it released into the wild. đ±
